More Movies Seen

King Kong:: Long and violent, but a decent watch. I'd say I won't be seeing it again unless I have someone along with me that I can hide behind--preferably someone strong and masculine who won't laugh at me too much--, but it looks like I might be seeing it again tomorrow. There was only one scene I just couldn't force myself to watch any of. All I'm going to say is I generally have no trouble with bugs, heck they make great photographic subjects, but big bugs--gigantic, slimey, meat eating bugs....Yuk!! and double and triple Yuk!! My skin is still crawling. :-)

The Family Stone and Rumor Has It:: both short, light hearted movies. If you're looking for something quick and maybe a little entertaining, that might give you a snicker or two, see these. Otherwise, there's nothing really special about them.

The Producers:: It seemed a little slow for the first 15-20 minutes, but it quickly picked up and became very funny. I've been very depressed lately, and even I ended up smiling and laughing. I have to give my roommate credit for picking the right movie to cheer me up.

Finally!

A few more Scotland photos have been added at Scotland Day 2 and Scotland Day 7.

I know they've been slow in coming. More will arrive soon, I promise.

Many thanks to my close friend and excellent editor David M. Gordon

Two Movies Seen

Aeon Flux:: A science fiction movie with a plot. It's not an award winner, but can make for an entertaining matinee. Better than I expected it to be. My roommate really enjoyed the movie, but I think he was more interested in watching Chelize Theron than following the story line. :-)

The Chronicles of Narnia:The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe:: Well made and enjoyable, though perhaps a little slow in the beginning. The scenery was lovely, and the few special effects were well done but not overdone. The children in the audience loved it, and I'm certain I would have enjoyed it even more if my nieces and nephew had been with me. More importantly, I did not fall asleep once during the show--I can't say the same for Aeon Flux, though to the movie's credit I had been up for nearly 24 hours when I saw it.

Claddagh rings

Anyone know how to wear these rings?

It's research for a story--I want to be certain I get it right.

I did Google it. Where else would I look? But the results I found held conflicting information. That, and I am not certain what the definitions of heart pointing in and heart pointing out mean. Hearts don't really point, do they? Well, unless they mean the point on the heart. It seems to me that directions would be much more easily given if they referred to the crown instead of the heart.

This is the best version of the description that I have seen most often, and that I remember as being the correct method--yes I wore one of these many years ago.

"Worn on the right hand, with crown and heart facing out, the ring tells that the wearer's heart is yet to be won. While under love's spell it is worn with heart and crown facing inwards. Wearing the ring on the left hand, with the crown and heart facing inwards, signifies that your love has been requited."

But I have also seen exactly the opposite description.

Anyone else have any input?
