A quick read.This second book in the trilogy,coming of age with a romance,fantasy novel stands equally well on its own.

500+ pages, and definitely not a quick read.The first third of the book started out well, then I became bored either because the plot was moving too slowly for me or because I knew the actual history of the surrounding event a little too well. I decided to push through to the end. The last third of the book was better again.I did recommend this book to a friend who skims through books, rather than absorbing every word.
