Maria V. Snyder - A quick read.This second book in the trilogy,coming of age with a romance,fantasy novel stands equally well on its own.
Kate Mosse - 500+ pages, and definitely not a quick read.The first third of the book started out well, then I became bored either because the plot was moving too slowly for me or because I knew the actual history of the surrounding event a little too well. I decided to push through to the end. The last third of the book was better again.I did recommend this book to a friend who skims through books, rather than absorbing every word.

Oh this is so unfair. I want to pack up and leave right now. ;-)

That is not the objective. The correct objective is to see the few so well and thoroughly that you have no need to return. My suggestion: fly into the island farthest south and east -- say, Santorini (which is so astoundingly gorgeous it deserves more time, even though it is heavily-touristed) -- and then ferry yourself from island to island working your way methodically back toward the mainland. For example, from Santorini, you could do Paros (and do not forget to walk that wonderful old Roman road/path) and on to Mykonos. From Mykonos you could take the high speed ferry back to the mainland, or fly. Of course, there are several other islands you should discover. What has your research unearthed...?
Of course I know the objective is not to see every single island--honest, I wasn't whining. :-)
I haven't had much time to do research today--work gets in the way, and there's that important meeting tomorrow. :-(
Early this morning, I was looking at Mykonos and Santorini.
I have to meet a friend tonight, but if I get home early enough, I will do a little more investigating.
And, of course, if you go to Mykonos, you shouldn't miss Delos. :-)
There are many islands that, once there (in the vicinity), one must see. Yes, Delos included. To see them all would require a lifetime. Do not forget other areas of the world that the traveler also must see.
